Cottage renovation

I can recommend Dorset Plasterers without hesitation.

They did a superb job on the renovation of my 200-year-old cottage and I genuinely cannot fault them. As it was our second home they were renovating, I was not able to be at the property for much of the time. However, I felt absolutely secure entrusting the keys to Ben, who project-managed the whole thing at no extra cost and with great care and attention to detail. The work was carried out very promptly and reliably, with no gaps or long waits at all.

Although I initially enquired about plastering only, I was thrilled to discover that Ben, who is an excellent plasterer, works with a group of highly skilled craftsmen from varying trades, and so he and his team were also able to complete all of the electrical, plumbing and carpentry jobs that were needed.

I had a long list of things for them to do: plastering the whole downstairs, including a difficult ceiling with lots of beams; laying a solid oak floor onto a surface that had several steps and challenging slopes, repositioning the fusebox, rewiring rooms, disconnecting dangerous old wiring and installing new lighting, installing a new boiler, removing a wall and taking out an entire bathroom and its plumbing systems, removing old tiles and making the whole area good again, boxing in pipes, hiding wires safely and re-plastering smoothly to name but a few!

Ben coordinated the jobs seamlessly and it was a joy to arrive at the house and find quite complicated jobs done and dusted to a high standard. Where there were complications, or where one of the team had a clever solution or suggestion, Ben consulted with me by phone and email and was able to adapt the plan where I wanted, again with little or no extra cost. He was also great at emailing me photos of each day's work to show the progress that was being made and to check that I was happy with what was being done.

I am extremely pleased with the results. I couldn't imagine it is possible to find a more friendly, professional, flexible, reasonably-priced and trustworthy company than Dorset Plasterers!

Plastering 5 room loft conversion

From initial first visit to finished result, they were professional all the way.

Excellent finish, especially as we gave them quite a challenging piece of work, lots of angles and slightly wonky walls.
